The relationaships between the epic Jangar and religion is a question which is concerned for a long time and lack of Teseearch.This book is divided into three parts:the first one is The Folk Custom of Singing Jangar and Religion ,the second one is The Text and The Shamanism,and the third one is Jangar and Buddhism .This book has overcome the trends of the past which paid much attention to the epic text and ignored the studies of the custom of singing.Bringing the custom of singing into the study,it discusses systematically the relationships between Jangar and the Mongolian religions.By summarizing the religions and literary development of the epic,the first part discusses and demonstrates the importance of the cpic in the life of tribal society and various phenmenon which result from the epic singing. In the second and third parts,the author specifies respectively the influences of Shamanism,which is the native religion, and Buddhism on Jangar,and puts forth his own opinions.
