《法学》是由华东政法大学主办的中文法律类核心期刊，发行量位居全国法学类理论刊物之首，是美国、英国等国图书馆收藏的中国为数不多的法学刊物之一。 本书坚持《法学》选载论文"短、平、快"的特色，从所设评论、论文、笔谈、专题探讨、争鸣、司法实践（含案例评析、疑案探析等）、专访等栏目中分别选译出15篇左右年度优秀论文，不仅包括民法、刑法、国际法、经济法等法学理论探讨论文，也包括立法、司法等实践性强的论文，主要赠送给国外各大学法学院，以加强中外法学界的学术交流。 本书组织作者将其论文翻译为英文，不仅能够弥补国内英文论文的短缺，也能够加强和海外学术界的交流，向国外法学同行宣传国内法学界的研究成果。
