　中国大学出版社协会成立于1987年，是中国大学出版界的全国性、专业性、行业性和群众性的社会团体。
　本会实行团体会员制，会员是北京大学出版社、清华大学出版社等108家大学出版社的法定代表人或负责人。本会的业务主管单位是中华人民共和国教育部。
　本会遵守中华人民共和国宪法、法律、法规和国家政策以及社会道德规范，贯彻国家的教育方针和出版方针。本会组织会员开展大学出版方面的学术研究，探索建设有中国特色的大学出版社的规律，推进海内外文化交流和海峡两岸出版交流。
　本会会员单位按照大学本身的类别分别为：综合性大学出版社29家，理工科类大学出版社44家，文科类大学出版社19家，师范类大学出版社11家，国家教育部直属的出版社4家。
本会不但在国内组织各会员单位开展编辑、出版、经营管理等方面的交流，而且与美国、英国、日本和韩国等国的大学出版社开展互访交流，组织会员单位参加德国的法兰克福书展和日本东京书展等，进行版权贸易和合作出版，开展外向型出版活动。
　近几年来，随着改革开放的深入，全国各大学出版社都有了较大的发展。据不完全统计，到2003年，全国大学出版社共计年出书品种达2.8万余种，总产值96.5亿元，年销售利润达10亿元。同时出现了一批经营规模大、产值高和在国内外影响巨大的大学出版社。

Chinese University Presses Association
Chinese University Presses Association was founded in 1987.It is a professional publishing association, a national non-government organization.
CUPA practises membership system. It consists of 108 university presses,such as Peking University Press,Tsing Hua University Press,etc.
This association abides by the Constitutions，laws，regulations，govermment policies and social morals of the People’s Republic of China,and carries out the educational and publishing principles of China.It organizes its members to make acadmic research in publishing,to find out the rules of university publishing with Chinese characteristics, to promote Sino-foreign cultural communication.
Members are divided into different categories according to the characteristics of the universities to which they are afiliated:29comprehensive university presses, 44 university presses of science and engineering,19 university presses of liberal arts,11teachers’university presses,and 4 presses directly afiliated to the CUPA not only orgazises its members to communicate with one another as well as with unversity presses from US,UK,Japan,Korea,and so on,but also orgazises them to attend Frankfurt Bookfair,and Tokyo Bookfair,etc. to seek opportunities for copyright transaction and co-pulbishing.
In recent years, with the deeping of the reform and opening up to the outside world,the university presses in China have developed rapidly. According to incomplete statistics, up to the year 2003,Chinses university presses annually produce over 28,000 titles, the total value which is 96,500 million yuan ,the annual sales profit 10,000 million yuan.Meanwhile,there appear a number of largeschale,high-output,and influential university presses.
